QUALITY CONTROL AND QUALITY ASSURANCE

 

QUALITY

Quality is about meeting the needs and expectations of customers.

Quality is not an accident, it is a result of intelligent efforts. 

1.   Increase customer loyalty with that product or service organization.

2.   Customers come again and repeat purchases again.

3.   Customers recommend the product or service to others.

 

QUALITY CONTROL

1.    Quality control is nothing but to identify the deviations in product by using Quality tools.

2.    Quality tools contains Measuring instruments, Excel charts (7 QC charts), visual techniques, and other testing equipment’s.

 

3.    Quality control is a product oriented action.

4.    Quality control is term which is comes under working after product is getting final.

Example:

A flanges are received at store then you sampled them and sample quantity are checked by measuring instruments, if defect or deviation is found then you reject the lot as per sampling rule this is called Quality control.

 

QUALITY ASSURANCE

1.    Quality assurance is nothing but to prevent the deviation and defects in product by using standard operating procedure (SOP) implementation.

2.    SOP are different for different processes contain machining, painting, dye penetrant testing, welding etc.

3.    Quality Assurance is the process oriented action.

 

4.    Quality assurance is the term which is involving all ongoing processes in company related to finish products.

5.    Quality assurance is the continuous improvement process.

Example:

A welder is doing welding of final run then doing dye penetrant test the defects are identify then the type of defect is studied and as per defect welding process is implementing by using all standards like ASME section IX, section VIII, AWS D1.1 etc. after implementation recheck the welding for same defects regularly this is called Quality Assurance.

Other side we are doing welder qualification as per ASME section IX and make a WPS/PQR/WPQ documents before welder doing welding is also Quality Assurance.
