OVERVIEW OF ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE OF QUALITY ENGINEERS
 

1.  All Raw and bought out material checklist followed by a specific standard with their acceptance criteria. 

        2.    In-process material checklist.

        3.    Final product checklist before dispatch.

        4.    Should have familiar with ITP (Inspection test plan)/QAP (Quality assurance plan)

        5.    Should have good fabrication knowledge.

        6.    Should have sound knowledge in GD & T for reading of drawings.

        7.    Should be familiar with all welding and manufacturing symbols.

        8.    Familiar with all welding processes and welding rods.

        9.    Should know the WPS/PQR/WPQ for welder qualifications

      10.     Good visual practice for welding defects.

       11. Should be minimum ASNT NDT level II in RT, PT, MT, VT & UT whichever is applicable as per projects that you are doing in your company.

      12. Should have good practice of making Quality Dossier for every projects as per given ITP/QAP.

      13. Should have maintain all quality standards on shop floor.

      14. Should have knowledge of testing and calibration of instruments and equipment’s.

      15. Familiar with Third party inspections.

      16. Good knowledge of heat treatments.

      17. Should be problem solving by using all quality standards and procedures.

      18. Should know the use of 5s, kaizen, 7QC tools etc that will definitely improve the quality of products.

      19. Should be familiar with latest ISO standards, its clauses and same maintain all the required documents.

 

      20. Should have familiar with ASME codes.

      21. Should have good knowledge of Supplier Quality and its development.

22. Should have good communicating and computer skill. 

23. Information and handling of all measuring instruments and its proper documentation like Instrument history chart, calibration status, MSA etc.
